#26 Question: Looking for wavelet analysis of EEG signals.

19/Jan/98

I need a couple of diagrams to illustrate wavelet
analysis of EEG signals. This is for a contribution on
EEG analysis to be published in a new book on EEG. Can
anyone help?

First I want a diagram of a wavelet and its Fourier
transform, perhaps at two dilations.

Second, a diagram which illustrates basic wavelet
analysis of an EEG, like figure 1 of M. Akay (1995)
Wavelets in Biomedical Engineering, Annals of Biomedical
Engineering; 23: 531-542, but with an epoch of EEG
instead of the ECG shown there.

This figure shows an ECG signal with below a series of
wavelet analyses at differing dilations. For EEGers it
would be preferable if the x-axis is time as it is there
and not translation as it often is. Also the y-axis
scale should preferably be frequency bands rather than
dilation.

I will acknowledge the source of any material published.
If anyone can help I will send my address. I am in the
UK.

I am a retired EEG researcher still writing about EEGs.
