#13 Job: Postdoc position at Univ. Cath. Louvain (Belgium)

Univ. Cath. Louvain (Belgium)

In the framework of a European Community TMR program, entitled
"Advanced Signal Processing for Medical Resonance Imaging and
Spectroscopy", two postdoctoral positions are available, one in the
Laboratory for Chemical Physics and Crystallography, and one in the
Institute of Theoretical Physics, Universit'e Catholique de Louvain,
Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). Other institutions involved are in Delft,
Leuven, Lyon, Leipzig, Xanthi and Athens.

The general theme is MRS/MRI signal processing, more precisely rapid
analysis and reconstruction of signals/images, starting from raw,
undersampled, data in k-space. The particular program to be realized
in Louvain-la-Neuve concerns the use of wavelet methods for the
analysis of data taken in non-Cartesian geometry (gridding), for image
reconstruction, image segmentation and contrast enhancement.
Programming is done in C, C++ and Matlab.

Applicants must be citizens from one of the 15 EU countries (except
Belgium), or Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein or Norway, no more than 35
years old. They should hold a recent Ph.D. in physics, mathematics or
electrical engineering and be fluent in programming. They should have
an interest in MRS/MRI signal processing and a basic knowledge in
wavelet techniques. Travel to other partner institutions is expected.

Period: one year, renewable, starting anytime after January 1, 1998,
but the sooner the better. Program runs from 1.1.98 to 31.12.2000
