#24 Question: Wavelet for continuous signal recognition

Hello everyone!

I would like to attempt the use of wavelets on the problem of
recognizing signals that are continuous. I am not well-schooled in
wavelet theory; I would be most grateful for any guidance or insight
into these questions:

1. Which wavelets are not worth considering and why?

2. Similarly, is there a single best bases or a class of bases to consider for
this problem?

3. Can these wavelets be calculated real-time or near that?

4. What are the problems associated with the use of wavelets for
continuous signal recognition? Are there solutions?

Thank you all for the help,
JK Graham
