#3 Preprint: New boundary algorithms for subdivision schemes

From: Adi Levin, Tel-Aviv university.

We introduce a new family of subdivision schemes that we call
'Combined Subdivision Schemes'. In particular, these schemes provide
simple algorithms for representing surfaces that satisfy boundary
conditions. Their main advantage is the capability to prescribe
arbitrary boudnary conditions, such as interpolation of given
arbitrary boundary curves, while existing methods typically generate
only spline curves or subdivision curves at the surface boundaries.

The resulting algorithms are simple and can be used also to design
surfaces with higher order boudnary conditions (such as given tangent
planes on the boundaries).

Preprints, and more information about combined subdivision schemes can be
found in my home-page: http://www.math.tau.ac.il/~adilev
