#13 Meeting: Multivariate Approximation and Interpolation

We would like to inform you about a workshop entitled "Multivariate
Approximation and Interpolation with Applications in CAGD, Signal and
Image Processing" which will be held in Eilat (at the King Solomon
Hotel) on September 7-11, 1998. The topics covered will be Wavelets,
Ridge functions and Neural networks, Multivariate Polynomials, Splines
and Radial functions, CAGD, Image processing, and Signal processing,

Participation in the workshop is by invitation only. There will be at
most 50 invited participants from abroad. Altogether we are planning
about 35-40 lectures. The duration of each lecture will be 30 minutes
with some time for discussion following each talk. There will be no
parallel sessions. Since the number of lectures is very limited, we
regret that there will be no possibility of your giving a lecture.

The Workshop will be held at the King Solomon Hotel, and participants
will be staying in the adjacent Lagoona Hotel . The cost, (a special
rate) on the basis of bed and breakfast, is Single $83, Double $102,
Triple $111. Please reserve through the organizers.

The Workshop will begin September 7, Monday morning, and end on
September 11, Friday afternoon. Participants should arrive in Eilat by
Sunday Sept. 6th. We recommend departure, if at all, on Friday Sept.
11th in the late afternoon, or on Saturday Sept. 12th.

We are planning running coffee during the days of the Workshop and a
welcoming cocktail party on Monday evening to which all participants
are invited. We also plan an optional boat excursion in the Gulf of
Eilat on Wednesday afternoon, and a dinner on Thursday evening. In
order to defray expenses we require

Registration fee: Faculty and students $75- without the optional activities,
Faculty and students $110- including all activities.
Industry $300- including all activities.

Further information including list of participants and tentative
titles of lectures, as confirmed, is available at:
