#39 Question: About Shift-Invariant Wavelet

Dear Waveleter,

It is commonly known that shift invariance is very important to signal
processing, and DWT does not have shift invariance property. I read a
paper, "Multiresolution representations using the auto-correlation
functions of compactly supported wavelet", IEEE trans. on SP, Vol 41,
1993. The paper proposed a fast algorithm using autocorrelation shell
of Daubechies family and the Mallat algorithm with downsampling to
calculate symmetrical shift invariant wavelet decomposition
coefficients.
Anybody have done experiments using the proposed algorithm?
How about the perfomance of the algorithm?
