#18 Answer: Realtime fast wavelet transform (WD 7.2 #14)

Answer to question 14.

There are 2 ways ( that I know of ) to solve the realtime problem

1) use border filters, start with the paper by Zixiang Xiong
Flexible Tree Structured Signal Expansions Using Time Varying
Wavelet Packets IEEE Trans. VOL 45 NO2 feb 1997

Many helpful references in this paper see [14] and [17]

2) use overlapping of tiles at borders

see my web page (paper presented at Duke International Workshop
on wavelets/statistics week) where I use this approach for
wavelet packet best basis search and soft threshold
denoiseing of seismic signals

http://ece.wpi.edu/~gendron

basically it is what 'overlap-add' are to convolution.
