#1 Book: A Wavelet Tour of Signal Processing (Mallat)

A WAVELET TOUR OF SIGNAL PROCESSING
by Stephane Mallat
Academic Press, 1998
ISBN: 0-12-466605-1

Why writing yet another book on wavelets?

My goal was to give a global perspective and an intuitive sense of
orientation in the jungle of new wavelet tools for signal processing,
which took me four years. The book guides the reader along the
bridges between applications, algorithms and theorems, with many
figures and examples to escort them.

Also conceived as a textbook for electrical engineering and applied
mathematics wavelet classes, it includes many problems. All
algorithms are programmed in the freeshare WaveLab software of Donoho,
to let readers and students make their own numerical experiments.
