#9 CFP: Call for Wavelet Special Issue JEI/Jul.98

Call for Special Issue/Section on Wavelet Image Processing edited by
Harold Szu & to be Published, in July of 1998, by SPIE as a refereed
issue of "Journal of Electronic Image (JEI)*"

PURPOSE: The Wavelet Applications review board, which consists of
those appeared in the annual Wavelet Aapplications conference (SPIE
April Orlando since 1993), wishes to establish through referee the
state of the art applications of wavelet transforms to a specific
topic area--image processing, in order to charter the future
development for industrial and governmental applications in the video
phone communication and remote sensing.

SCOPE: The high quality original contribution and/or reveiw of
critical contribution in image and video compression & communication
area are called for. The audio speech signal processing portion is
only welcome if it is a part of the video presentation. Also, color
and motion may be included as part of the supporting document for
publication. There is no page limit but there is page charge for all
paper accepted for publication.

PROPOSAL DUE DATE: Those authors who wish to be certain about the
content and scope may wish to submit ASAP a summmary of results before
Sepember 30 1997 to:

HSzu@NSWC.Navy.mil, or fax 540-653-2687, call 540-653-2655 (office).

Full papers will be due by the end of 1997 and early Spring of 1998.

*This journal is perhaps less known to wavelet community but is widely
circulated because it is a part of the standing order of every
libraries world-wide who have SPIE Proceedings. Thus, the journal
impact parameter which may be surprising to you is quite high
internationally in the pacific rim where most of those consumer
electronics of image/video are made of.
