#22 Question: Concerning lifting
(WD 6.5 #21)

This is in reference to WD 6.5 #21. You have mentioned a particular
technique called LIFTING. I am wondering whether this lifting technique comes
from Algebraic Topology where we can study about lifting of maps.

Best regards

Answer: No lifting does not have anything to do with lifting of maps
as known in Algebraic Topology. It is a general framework for
constructing wavelet transform, particularly on complicated
geometries. -- Wim Sweldens.
