#6 Software: WavBox 4.4b2 Software and FirWav Filter Library

ToolSmiths has just released Version 4.4b3 of WavBox Software and
introduced a new function library called the FirWav Filter Library.

Major new additions to the WavBox Software function library include
all of the methods, tests, and wavelets documented in the following
reprints or preprints:

Specifications and Standards for Reproducibility of Wavelet
Transforms, Proceedings ICSPAT'96 Boston, October 1996, pages
1923-1927.

Reproducibility Standards for Wavelet Transform Algorithms, submitted
to IEEE TCAS II.

Computational Algorithms for Daubechies Least-Asymmetric, Symmetric,
and Most- Symmetric Wavelets, Proceedings ICSPAT'97 San Diego,
September 1997, in press.

The Systematized Collection of Wavelet Filters Computable by Spectral
Factorization of the Daubechies Polynomial, in preparation.

In addition, most of the core of the WavBox Software library has been
significantly rewritten and extended to further the goals of this
project as originally described in 1993 WD 2.11 #7 with special
attention to being both efficient and educational.

The web sites supporting both WavBox and FirWav libraries have
recently been updated with many new color figures displaying examples
of the wavelet filters in the FirWav Filter Library.

You may access these web sites via the URLs:

http://www.wavbox.com

http://www.toolsmiths.com

These sites will continue to be updated in the coming months with
additional color figures of wavelets and wavelet transforms. WavBox
4.4 Software will also be presented at the 1997 SIAM Annual Meeting to
be held at Stanford in July.

ToolSmiths and WavBox are registered trademarks, and
FirWav and HonorWare are trademarks of ToolSmiths.
