#25 Question: Wavelet-based velocity estimation

Dear waveleteers,

I am a student at the Technical University of Zurich trying to implement
an aVLSI chip doing motion estimation based on wavelet theory. The
main thing I hope from a multiscale approach is countering the
aperture problem.
Could someone point me to any references in that direction? Does
someone know of a "reasonably simple" wavelet-based algorithm for (2D)
motion estimation ?
Does there exist a multiscale analysis with a real scaling
function and two (complex) wavelet functions, of which one is
consisting almost only of positive, the other one almost only of
negative frequencies ?
As I am in the very early stages of my research, any help and/or
guidance you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
