#17 Job: Postdoctoral Fellowships At Los Alamos National Laboratory

Two-year postdoctoral fellowships in wavelet transform research are now
available in the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
The fellowships may be renewed for a third year.

The postdoctoral positions are with a newly formed research group that
focuses on wavelet transform theory (both continuous and discrete),
and unique approaches to image compression, speech denoising, and
other problems in digital signal processing.

Applicants should have received their Ph.D. no earlier than May 1994,
and should have strong technical skills together with a background in
signal processing or related topics in mathematics or computer
science.

Extensive experience in C or C++ programming is essential.

Postdoctoral salaries at Los Alamos are determined commensurate with
previous job experience, with a minimum starting salary of
approximately $44,000 per year.

The deadline for the first round of applications is March 15, 1997;
applications will be considered thereafter on a continuing basis.

Los Alamos National Laboratory is an affirmative action/equal
opportunity employer. Postdoctoral positions are open to both
U.S. and non-U.S. citizens, but the applicant must be available in the
U.S. or Canada for telephone and personal interviews.

Please send resume, undergraduate and graduate transcripts, examples
of your C or C++ code (via email), at least three letters of
recommendation, and a list of your references (together with their
phone numbers and email addresses) to:
