#12 Job: Research Positions on wavelet image processing

Research Positions on wavelet image processing in Canada

Research Associate, Post-Doctoral fellow and graduate research assistant
positions on wavelet image processing are now available at Laval
University, Center for Optics Photonics and Laser, image science
group, and at the company Lockheed Martin Electronic System Canada
(LMESC) for a collaborative research project on multi-spectrum image
stabilization, registration and fusion using the wavelet
transform. The research will involve wavelet image feature extraction,
motion estimation and multiresolution image fusion.
The project is funded for three years by the Department of
National Defense (DND), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Council
of Canada (NSERC) and LMESC through a DND-NSERC-industry research
partnership program.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. or a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering,
Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Physics, and strong skill for
programming, computer algorithm analyzing and problem
solving. Knowledge in image processing and wavelet transform will be
very much appreciated.
One Post-Doctoral or Research Associate will work in the R&D
department at LMESC (located in Montreal).
Salary is according to candidate skills and the NSERC rules.
Hiring conditional to contractual agreements between all parties
(hopefully in January 1997).
