#24 Question: Noise removal from acoustics and speech
I am currently investigating wavelets as a method to remove impulsive,
white, and colored noises from speech and other acoustical data
collected from non-stationary environments. Can anyone tell me how
well the various wavelet methods work compared to other techniques?
Can they be implemented in near-real-time? On fixed/floating point
DSPs? Are there particular wavelet sets that work better or more
generically against these types of noises? And FINALLY, do they also
remove noise-like components of speech (ES, KAH, etc)? Thanks, keith
