#18 Question: Wavelets and the nonlinear Schroedinger equation

I am trying to apply wavelets to the numerical solution of PDE's,
particularly the nonlinear Schroedinger equation (NLSE), in the hope
of less computation time than with traditional methods
(finite-difference and split-Fourier, for example). I was wondering
if anyone had applied any wavelet-based method to this equation, and
what the results were (even if the wavelet method wasn't a win).

I've implemented the "traveling wavelets" method of V. Perrier and
C. Basdevant, and I'm currently trying to apply it to the NLSE with
quadratic nonlinearity. It's hard to foresee whether this will work
well, however. If anyone had implemented this method for any
equation, I'd be particularly interested to hear about it.
