Question: Wavelet noise reduction for signals with poor SNR

I have a one-dimensional string of data which has very poor SNR. I
want to know what wavelet techniques are available to separate the
signal ( which is amplitude modulated sinusoid in my case ) from the
noise ( which I assume to be white mostly ). Can an expert on this
aspect of the wavelets help me with this ?

Thanks.
