Meeting: Wavelets and their Application in Medicine and Biology

EMBS 1996-Workshop On Wavelets and their Application in Medicine and
Biology, October 30, 1995, RAI International Exhibition and Congress
Center Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Organized and presented by: Murray Eden, Akram Aldroubi, and Michael
Unser, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA

Full day

This one-day course will provide a step-by-step introduction to the
wavelet transform emphasizing the properties that are the most
relevant for biomedical signal and image processing. It will also
review the most important applications of wavelet techniques in
medicine and biology. In contrast with the related workshops on
wavelets in the two previous years, it will have much more of a
tutorial flavor, and will be addressed to participants who are not
necessarily wavelet experts. It will also provide a timely update on
the most recent developments in this area.

Contributions:
* An introduction to the wavelet transform by Akram Aldroubi
* Implementation issues by Michael Unser
* Wavelet-based biomedical signal processing by Murray Eden
* Wavelet-based biomedical image processing by Michael Unser

Workshop fee before September 1, 1996: Nlg 300 (US$ 200)
After September 1 : Nlg 400 (US$ 260)
