CFP: IEEE Transcations on signal processing

Special Issue on

Multirate signal processing, filter banks, and wavelets are receiving
significant attention within the signal processing community.
The growth in this general area has been tremendous over the last few years.
In response to this growing interest, the IEEE Transactions on
Signal Processing has planned a special issue devoted to recent advances
in the theory of filter banks and wavelets, and innovative applications of
these approaches to new problems. Papers for this special issue are now
being solicited. Specific topic areas of interest include:

* Theory and design of filter banks
* Theory and implementation of wavelets
* Hierarchical decompositions, multiresolution techniques and wavelet packets
* Time-varying filter banks
* Time-frequency analysis and representations
* Fast algorithms and implementations for filter banks

* Communications---including wireless, multiuser, ADSL, LPI, spread
spectrum, and digital audio broadcasting
* Signal and data compression
* Speech and audio processing
* Multiresolution techniques for multimedia applications
* Combined source-channel coding
* Radar signal processing
* Biomedical signal processing
* Telemedicine
* Other applications

This special issue is unique in that it will be published with a
complementary companion special issue that will appear in the
Transactions on Circuits and Systems II. In cooperation with the
IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, accepted papers may be exchanged
between the two Societies where appropriate.

SUBMISSIONS: Prospective authors should follow the regular paper
preparation guidelines of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON SIGNAL PROCESSING.
Authors should send seven copies of their manuscripts to the Contact Editor,
Ali N. Akansu. No electronic or fax submissions will be accepted.
All inquiries after submission should be directed to the Contact Editor.
