Question: Wavelets for Texture Analysis

--------

In recent wavelet encounters in Belgium, the need emerged for a source
of information on the use of wavelets for the analysis of textures.
Despite the large amount of wavelet material, no survey of current
work on this specific topic is available. Since only few people study
this, they tend to work on islands. Except for a few "classical"
papers, there is not much widespread information.

This initiative is meant to help this and is therefore completely focused
on this specific topic which is:
- the classification of textures based on wavelet based features and
- the segmentation of textured images using these features.

The goals of the initiative are :

- compiling and maintaining an upto date list of papers and reports
concerning the topic.
- enable 2 way communication between people working on it.
- setting up a web site containing relevant info, reports and
links to active groups.

So, if you are working on this topic, please fill out the form below
and send it to: livens@ruca.ua.ac.be
