Job: Post-doctoral position at CWI-Amsterdam

Post-doctoral position at CWI-Amsterdam

CWI (Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science) announces the start
of a new project "Wavelets, Analysis of seismic signals". The position
of a post-doctoral appointment for a period of two years (starting
this fall) is still open. The applicant must have a strong background
in mathematical analysis and geophysiscs (or seismology), coupled with
experience in computer graphics and computer vision.

We intend to, first, develop a basic software package for wavelet
design and wavelet transformation (say, as an extension of existing
software packages as MatLab). Secondly, we plan to develop an advanced
software package for transient signals using wavelet
transformation. This package should be applicable in various
disciplines of signal analysis and synthesis, with the emphasis on
seismic signals.

Applicants should send (by e-mail or fax) their complete C.V.
including a list of publications and a short statement describing
their research programme.

Please be quick, say within seven days after publication of this
issue of Wavelets Digest.
