Meeting: Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America.

I am writing to inform fellow members of the wavelet digest about the Call for
Papers for the 129th meeting of the Acoustical Society of America.

The 129th Meeting of the ASA will be held Tuesday through Saturday 30 May - 3
June 1995 at the Washington, DC Renaissance Hotel. Note that this meeting
immediately follows the U.S. Memorial Day holiday weekend. Some sessions will
be held on Tuesday and a full program of sessions will be held every morning
and afternoon, Wednesday through Saturday. Registration will begin Tuesday at
7:30 a.m.

The Signal Processing in Acoustics technical committee will be sponsoring a
special session on Wavelet Analysis Techniques and Applications. Several
speakers have been invited:
1) Ronald R. Coifman: Wavelet packets as a tool for sound processing
2) Joseph Lakey: Overview of Wavelet Techniques
3) Anthony Teolis: Wavelet Auditory Model
4) Wei Cai : Adaptive wavelet collocation methods for wave propagations

The deadline for receipt of abstracts is Monday 30 January 1995. This deadline
will be strictly enforced. An original and one copy of an abstract of not more
than 200 words should be submitted for each paper, whether invited or
contributed. Abstracts should be double spaced and prepared in accordance with
the ASA Instructions for the Preparation of Abstracts (contact Elain Moran, see
below). Authors desiring to contribute non-invited papers to special sessions
should indicate: "PREFER SPECIAL SESSION ON...(title of session)"

Mail the original and one copy of the abstract to the Technical Program
