Meeting: ANU Wavelets Workshop

ANU Year on Wavelets and Wavelets Workshop

A plain TeX brochure for the Australian National University's year on
wavelets follows. The highlight of the year is the Wavelets Workshop from
26th to 30th of June, 1995. The Year and the Workshop are intended to be
multidisciplinary and there are speakers covering the areas of Analysis,
Statistics and Computation.

There is also a WWW site under construction which can be accessed via the
or via the ANU School of Mathematical Science's home page:
This contains information about the Year, the Workshop, and about Wavelets.
It will be updated as information comes to hand.

including Wavelet Workshop

26--30 June 1995

In 1995 the Centre for Mathematics and its Applications at the
Australian National University will host a Special Year on wavelet methods
in mathematical analysis, statistics and computation. A highlight of the
Year will be a workshop (26--30 June), although activities will continue
throughout 1995. A preliminary list of speakers includes

* Analysis
Yves Meyer (Paris)
Guido Weiss (St Louis)
Pascal Auscher (Rennes)
Alan Mcintosh (Macquarie)

* Statistics
Iain Johnstone (Stanford)
G'erard Kerkyacharian (Paris)
Guy Nason (Bristol)
Mary O'Kane (Adelaide)
Dominique Picard (Paris)

* Computation
Gil Strang (MIT)
Charles Micchelli (IBM, Yorktown Heights)
Charles Chui (Texas A&M)

Further invitations are being extended as funds permit.
Expressions of interest are sought, particularly from mathematicians,
statisticians, computer scientists and engineers who wish to participate.
Some funding may be available to help defray costs. Please write to:

The CMA:

The Centre for Mathematics and its Applications (CMA) is
a research division of the School of Mathematical Sciences, and
fosters research in analysis, statistics and computational
mathematics. It regularly organises Special Years and workshops on
topics of particular interest to the mathematical and statistical
communities. These activities are facilitated by on-campus housing
available to visiting scientists and scholars, and by a Visiting
Fellowship program.
