Job: Graduate student fellowship at Los Alamos National Laboratory

Fulltime graduate student fellowships in wavelet transform
research are now available in the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos
National Laboratory. The fellowships are open to students not yet enrolled
in a graduate program, students interested in taking a leave of absence
from their graduate program, and students enrolled in a graduate program
but interested in carrying out fulltime thesis research at Los Alamos.

The student fellowships are with a newly formed basic research group
that focuses on theory of wavelet transforms (both continuous and
discrete), and applications to speech recognition and other problems
in digital signal processing.

Applicants should have strong technical skills together with a background in
signal processing or related topics in physics or mathematics.
Extensive experience in C or C++ programming is also required.

Graduate student salaries at Los Alamos are determined commensurate with
previous job experience, with salaries ranging between $20,000 and
$35,000 per year.

Los Alamos National Laboratory is an affirmative action/equal opportunity
employer. Fellowships are open to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens.

Send resume, undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and list of
references (together with phone numbers) to:
