Question: Request for wavelet application examples

Dear Collegues:

I am currently revising my book "Digital Image Processing" (Prentice-Hall,
1979). The new edition will include a chapter on wavelet transforms.

I would like to include a few real-world example pictures of wavelet
transform applications in image processing. These will be specific cases
where the discrete wavelet transform (e.g. Mallat's algorithm, etc.) is
used on a real image for compression, edge detection, texture segmentation,
etc. Particularly appealing are examples where the chosen wavelet is
designed to match certain features in the image, or where the wavelet
transform performs demonstrably better than other approaches.

If you have a published example (with glossy prints of the pictures) that
you would like to have considered for inclusion, please send me a reprint
of the article ASAP. If you have an unpublished example you would like to
have considered, please reply with a brief description and pictures. If I
am able to include your submission, we can work out the credit statement
and copyright permission from there.

Thanks for your consideration.
