Book: Adapted wavelet analysis from theory to software

ADAPTED WAVELET ANALYSIS FROM THEORY TO
SOFTWARE (ISBN# 1-56881-041-5; $59.95)
by M. Victor Wickerhauser is a text devoted to the
implementation and application of wavelet analysis. It
will aid the engineer and applied mathematician in
writing computer programs to analyze real data. It can
serve as a textbook for a course on wavelet theory and
applications including transient signal analysis and
processing. Each chapter discusses the technical
aspects of implementation giving examples in
pseudocode backed up with Standard C source code
(available on optional diskette for $25.00) and closes
with a list of worked exercises.

A user-friendly version of the WAVELET PACKET
LABORATORY (ISBN 1-56881-036-9; $300.00) has
been developed by Digital Diagnostic Corp. and Yale
Univ. WPLW is an interactive software tool for the
Microsoft Windows operating environment which
allows you to perform adapted wavelet analysis on
digital signals with wavelet packets and local
trigonometric transforms and lets you design your
own specialized algorithms.

WAVELETS, IMAGES, AND SURFACE FITTING
(ISBN 1-56881-040-7, $69.95) edited by LeMehaute,
Laurent and Schumaker brings together in one volume
carefully refereed papers from the 2nd International
Conference of Curves and Surfaces. The papers focus
on the connections between the theory and applica-
tions of wavelet analysis and curve and surface
methods.
