Question: wavelets for planetary image compression

Information and experience needed for planetary image compression:

I am working on a project involving compression of planetary data
images. I have several compression routines both lossy and lossless
but none involving wavelets. I would like to talk via email with
anyone who has used or is using wavelet compression for images of this
type....or any type.

The data is usually 1 bit per pixel.

As always,
