Summary: Editor's comment: unfortunately this is a past event, but you may still be interested in looking at the program

A Special Session on "Wavelets, Frames, and Operator Theory" will be held at the American Mathematical Society annual meeting, to be held in Baltimore, Maryland during January 15-18, 2003. This session will bring together researchers from a variety of disciplines to explore the strong ties between wavelet theory and operator theory, and in particular to the interactions between such areas as harmonic analysis, representation theory, operator algebras, approximation theory, and signal processing in problems ranging through wavelet theory, non-uniform sampling, frames, and the theory of spectral-tile duality.

Approximately 30 speakers have been invited to present talks in the session, which will take place on the last two days of the meeting (Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18).
