Marie Curie Fellowship at Abingdon Technology Center

Abingdon Technology Center (near Oxford, UK), part of the Schlumberger group, offers as from now one


for a Post Graduate student. The position is funded by the European Union for the duration of three years.

The Abingdon Technology Center carries out fundamental and applied research directed towards new software products and services for improving the efficiency of hydrocarbon recovery, cost effectively, safely and without harming the environment. The project is concerned with the investigation of modern technologies that enable new workflows for reservoir asset teams. The resulting developments are expected to be part of new technology for the future oil and energy industry. This research will also lead towards the award of a Ph.D. degree. The Ph.D. student will be supervised jointly by Dr. Armin Iske (Munich University of Technology, and by senior research scientists at Schlumberger Cambridge Research and Abingdon Technology Center.

The successful candidate is expected to have a sound background in computational physics and numerical analysis. Deeper knowledge of computational fluid dynamics and software development would be an advantage. The candidate is required to be a good team player with excellent communication skills.
